It is with great pleasure that I send you this formal invitation to attend the 2nd Shanghai International Library Forum (SILF 2004), to be held on October 12-15, 2004 at the Shanghai Library, Shanghai, China,

As you are aware, SILF 2004 will bring together librarians, researchers and scholars to discuss and exchange opinions on the latest achievements, innovations and the future related to the theme "City Development and Library Services". 

We cordially invite you to express your opinions and discuss key library issues at the forum, with people from all over the world. We would appreciate it if you could submit the abstract of your paper before May 12, 2004.

If I can be of any further assistance in facilitating your travel to China to participate in the SILF 2004 Conference, please do not hesitate to ask.  Again, let me thank you for your efforts in making SILF 2004 successful.  It will be a great honor to have you with us this October at the Shanghai Library for SILF 2004.
